The American education system has been criticized for failing to successfully compete on the international stage with respect to an undergraduate university education. Part of the issue is that in America, everyone has the opportunity to go to college. In many other nations, if you don't score high enough on a test or get the right grades, a university education is not possible. Another contributing factor to this criticism is that American students simply don't have as long a school day as their peers in other parts of the world.

In an ever increasing global economy, competition for employment starts in primary school. Each phase of education builds upon the previous.
